As Gunabash grew from deep tunnels into a thriving dwarven citadel, its people carved ever farther into the mountain — forging alliances, mastering craft, and shaping a legacy that would endure for centuries.
It was during one such expedition that Clan Rockwill came upon a battle already in progress. Orcs and goblins swarmed a wounded dragon within a vast cavern, striking at him from all sides while attempting to steal from his hoard. The great beast was weakening, and the monsters were many. For a moment, Agatus Rockwill considered leaving the fight untouched — until something in the dragon’s eyes stayed his hand.
Agatus ordered the charge.
The battle ended swiftly. The wounded dragon remained.
He named himself Saberallian.
Expecting greed or violence, Saberallian instead received food, healing, and quiet protection. Agatus and his company guarded the cavern in silence while clerics closed the dragon’s wounds and supplies were brought from the nearest outpost. When Saberallian finally slept, it was not from exhaustion alone, but from trust.
Agatus remained for months. The two shared stories, riddles, and long meals beside warm stone. From that friendship grew a bond that outlasted a lifetime. When Agatus passed, he was brought once more to see his old friend — and in the centuries that followed, other dwarves came as well. Not out of tribute, but to talk, to listen, and to remember.
This relic takes its form from those quiet hours. Curled inward in peaceful slumber, Old Saber shelters the dice within the circle of his body, offering a place of calm and guardianship. It is not a display of dominance, but a symbol of trust freely given and protection freely offered.
At the table, Slumber of Old Saber provides a steady, reassuring presence — a reminder that the greatest guardians are often those who choose to remain.
A true relic of Thornbeard Forge — crafted to endure, and worthy of the table it serves.

Size and Fit
Size and Fit
Slumber of Old Saber is a low-profile relic dice tray, designed to keep rolling contained while preserving clear sightlines across the table.
The tray interior is sized to comfortably accommodate full polyhedral sets and repeated rolling during longer sessions.
This relic is ideal for players who prefer an open rolling surface rather than a vertical tower, and works especially well in shared or central table positions.
All Thornbeard Forge relics are sized for standard tabletop play and are compatible with both rounded and sharp-edge polyhedral dice.
