Emeraldvein Pass was once thought impassable — a narrow route along the northern edge of the Gunabash Mountains discovered by Luxus Emeraldvein and believed too harsh to hold. That belief ended when a stone giant and his orc followers claimed the pass and began exacting tolls from all who dared cross it, slaughtering those who refused.
When the dwarves marched to reclaim the route, they expected brute resistance. What they found instead was preparation.
The orcs met them with towering engines of war — jagged structures bristling with spikes, trophies, and reinforced stone, dragged forward beneath the giant’s command. From these war towers, the orcs pressed the advance with brutal efficiency, turning the narrow pass into a killing ground. The battle that followed was long, costly, and hard-fought, and it marked the first time many in Gunabash — including a young shield dwarf named Raggard Thornbeard — faced war conducted with such calculated force.
This relic takes its form from those siege towers. Its brutal silhouette, layered plating, and outward-facing spikes echo structures built not to endure quietly, but to advance under fire and break resistance through pressure alone. It stands as a reminder that survival sometimes demands meeting force with force, and that victory is rarely without cost.
