_

Across Trimella, temples to Malmath the Black were raised not as places of worship, but as sites of preparation.

Within one such ruin, deep beneath stone and shadow, this idol was discovered — a towering figure carved in the likeness of Malmath the Defiler, mouth opened in eternal invocation, hands and altar prepared to receive what was owed. Unlike lesser relics found among the temple’s remains, this statue radiated a presence that lingered long after it was uncovered, heavy with purpose and restrained hunger.

Malmath is not a god of sudden destruction. He is the patient abyss — the slow corruption, the bargain honored in blood and silence. Legends hold that when enough offerings are made, when devotion outweighs fear, he may at last cross fully into the mortal world. This idol was not meant to celebrate that moment, but to enable it.

This relic takes its form from that warning. At the table, the Devouring Idol of Malmath commands attention through stillness alone, guiding each roll with deliberate gravity. It is a piece that does not demand use, but accepts it — a reminder that some powers wait not for chaos, but for consent.

A true legendary relic of Thornbeard Forge — crafted to endure, and worthy of legend.

Materials & Care

Materials

Each relic is crafted using high-quality PLA filament chosen for its durability, consistency, and fine detail. This material allows for precise forms, clean edges, and a finish worthy of both display and long use at the table.

Finish

Every piece is printed in small batches, carefully cleaned, and hand-finished to ensure smooth dice travel and a refined surface. Minor layer lines or subtle texture variations are a natural result of the forging process and are considered part of each relic’s character.

Care & Use

Designed for tabletop use and long-term enjoyment. Avoid prolonged exposure to high heat or direct sunlight, as with any finely crafted tabletop piece.
Clean gently with a soft, dry cloth as needed.

Production & Shipping

Production

Each relic is made to order at Thornbeard Forge. Towers are produced in small batches to ensure consistent quality, then carefully finished and inspected before they leave the forge. This approach allows us to maintain the standards expected of every Thornbeard relic.

Production Time

Most orders are completed and ready to ship within 5–7 business days. During periods of high demand or limited runs, production time may vary slightly.

Shipping

Orders are packed with care and shipped securely to ensure safe arrival. Tracking information is provided once your relic leaves the forge.

Size and Fit

The Devouring Idol of Malmath is a large relic tower with a broad, grounded base and a commanding table presence.

Its internal path and catch area are designed to handle full polyhedral sets and steady, repeated rolling during long sessions.

This relic is best placed where it can remain unobstructed and is well suited for use as a shared tower or central rolling feature at the table.

All Thornbeard Forge relics are sized for standard tabletop play and are compatible with both rounded and sharp-edge polyhedral dice.
